CLASSES ARE OVER!!!

But it's hard to celebrate right now because it's RIDICULOUSLY HOT. Seriously, this kinda weather is just unnatural for San Francisco. And ugh, I'm all sweaty and I'm sitting in a leather chair. >_<

But I have to stay in the city another week longer for graduation next Wednesday. My family is coming up for the ceremony, and then we're gonna pack up ALL of my stuff, load it in the truck, and they are going to take it back home with them. I, however, need to stay an extra day for the Industry Portfolio Review, then I fly home that evening.

So this means I'm done with school. Hopefully forever. But eh, who knows...someday I might come back to get my master's.

This weekend I'm gonna use my free time to try and finish up those commissions.

Woooooo birthday this Saturday! To celebrate we got tickets for the midnight premiere of Iron Man. Good stuff.

Other than that, not much else to say. I'm still going crazy with finals and submissions to the Spring Show. I'll no doubt spend all day tomorrow sitting at my desk painting my children's illustration for Tuesday's class. I've also gotta start worrying about the industry portfolio review that's a requirement for all graduating students.

AUGH.

Wow. Finals are over. That seemed rather...anti-climactic. Just, all of a sudden they were over this morning. And that was it. I guess I should be happy but I'm still kinda in shock.

Ah well, the happiness will kick in starting tomorrow once it finally sinks in.

So today after my class I ran back to my apartment, finished packing, checked out, lugged 70+ pounds worth of luggage about 6 city blocks to the BART station, and flew home. And now I have no idea what to do now that I AM home. XD

So I start working at the park again on Sunday. I have tomorrow to do what Christmas shopping I can, and then Sunday morning I gotta go in early, find a Fantasyland costume to fit me, and find a lead who will give me a review over the Classics. Because I've been gone 4 months and I can't really remember anything except the spiel for the carrousel. I'm reeeeaaaally hoping they'll let me cross-train at Storybook this month, but since I'm CT there's no guarantee. Poo.

Oh man oh man, so much to talk about and not enough time.

So I wanted to update earlier but I got sick this past weekend and I spent the last 5 days sleeping and doing homework. I got a fair amount of work done, but I'm still just congested.

Only a week of school left. Wait what?

I have NO food left and since there's only a week left there's no point in going grocery shopping. So I dunno what I'm gonna eat for the next week.

I so desperately want to sketch but I'm so completely burned out on homework I have neither the time nor engergy to doodle my own stuff. And because of that I still have yet to do my commissions for cinsangel and mamoulian. And I'm sorry to say I have not mailed out the commissions I have completed. Argh. I will get to it, I swear. Just let me get through this last mountain of homework.

Good lord I'm getting more and more frustrated with my teacher for Layout and Design. The man just constantly contradicts himself and gets reeeeaaally picky with out work. Last week he told us we were to do 10 thumbnails for our next assignments. Five for a fairy-esq layout and then five for a direction of our choice. Yes, our choice, open book, go crazy.

So what does he say when we present our thumbs this week? He tells us that the fairy direction he chose was better because our free choice thumbs were too crazy, too out there, too "all over the place."

........Excuse me?

That and Reginald is NOT cooperating with my 5 point turnaround.

Yep, starting to feel the crunch of finals.

WOOHOOHOOOO! Finals are OVER! No more sitting endlessly in front of my computer screen! No more Photoshop painting!

Now I need to finish packing like crazy, because they're kicking me out of the apartment in a few hours. For some reason the Academy wants us to leave as soon as humanly possible. O_o

Man I hate packing.

Wow. Do I really have only one more week of school? Finals this time around have been pretty stressful, but I've been getting them done. And I got some stuff submitted to the Spring Show. There's also a student awards ceremony next week at Post, and my teacher "casually" suggested that I should go. Hmmm. =D

I've been taking each assignment day by day and I usually haven't been completing my projects until the night before. Not the best way to go, but it hasn't backfired yet.

Aside from finals, I think Meet the Robinsons is my new obsession. Could be just a temporary one so don't worry, Alice and Reg aren't going anywhere. I dragged my roommate with me to the theaters since I didn't have anyone to see it again with. And Goob is my new animated crush. And by Goob I mean Bowler Hat Guy. XD I just fell in love with the animation; it was superb. Dick Zondag is my new hero.

I am so completely burned out on Photoshop. I've completed 6 of my 9 illustrations for finals and I'm just so sick of staring at the computer screen. I feel like my eyes are going to spontaneously combust at any moment or my head is going to melt like that guy from Indiana Jones.

So today I basically said 'screw it.' I needed to give myself a break. I walked down to Utrecht and loaded up on matte boards n' stuff I would eventually need. It felt soooo good to get outta my room and just walk around. The only complaint is what the HELL is up with this heat? This is NOT San Francisco weather! Also, just to cheer myself up I stopped at the Disney Store and bought The Art of Meet the Robinsons book. Nothing spectacular, but its got some nice art. I also bought a Bowler Hat Guy action figure (mainly because he was on sale). XD I think he's my new favorite Disney villain. Expect to see some sketches of him later on my devART.

I want to clean my apartment so badly. The bathroom and kitchen are filthy and there's junk lying all over the place. I just want to do something other than this stupid Photoshop painting. I want to cleeaaaan. I also need to finish my last two commissions. x_x

Three days straight of digital painting...my eyes can't take much more!

I hope this project turns out good. I'm doing 7 (maybe 8) children's illustrations-style paintings from the poem "The Owl and the Pussycat." Each painting takes one to two days to finish. I've got 3 and a half down and I have two weeks left. x_x

I don't mind the painting so much. It's just being stuck in my apartment, sitting at my computer all day. I'm almost glad to being going to class tomorrow.

I almost had a panic attack in class today. Nearly started to hyperventilate, but my teacher noticed and let me go for a walk outside. Felt good to get out in the cool air. I hate it when that happens. Mff. Now that I'm over it, I feel better. I just need to focus on time management for finals.

I know it's been a while, but I finally added my D*sneyland videos from Spring Break over at my Youtube Account. Only 4 of them this time. I also added a buncha photos to my Photobucket Gallery. Updated the following folders - Aladdin, Alice/Hatter, Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Group, Jack, Mary Poppins, Mickey/Friends, Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Pooh, Snow White, and Star Wars.
