Princess and the Frog

Last night I went to see Princess and the Frog at the Disney Studios. And OMG I loved it. I laughed, I cried, I ship Tiana and Naveen like crazy. They are now the hottest Disney couple. And Dr. Facilier is hot, I think it has something to do with his Keith David voice, mmmmm. I love that man's evil laugh. And I LOVE Charlotte, I'm so glad they actually gave her some character as opposed to just being a spoiled rich kid (and the animation on her was LOL).

I kinda wish though the event had taken place at the El Capitan (which is now being taken over by Disney's Christmas Carol). The Studios was a nice place but it didn't have that grand overall look and feeling of the El Cap, like at the Enchanted event (best damn event ever). The best part was Brian bought me The Art of the Princess and the Frog book, EEEEEE! I must learn how to draw these characters, especially Charlotte.

Oh and I woke up this morning and it was pouring rain, YAY! First time in ages! I must go find a Princess and the Frog icon now. Either Tiana or Facilier. <3

Halloween 2009 - Part 3

Finally, the last installment of our Walt Disney World trip during October! So we bought tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for the nights of October 8th and 9th. Sadly no cast member discounts, so we had to pay full price. But holy cow it was worth it, because after several years of going to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party in California Adventure, I can now say that Florida's Halloween parties kick our parties' ASS. Florida is better in every way, not only do they have way more characters and way more treat trails, you get to wear almost any costume into the MAGIC KINGDOM (which is not allowed at D*sneyland). Sure, I had known about this event for years, but actually experiencing it kinda blew my mind.

The first night I wore Giselle, Kat wore Mary Poppins, and Jen wore Belle.

Just being out on Main Street was a surreal experience because even though people KNOW it's Halloween, and they KNOW these parties are going on, they still STARE at you with a complete look of WTF. We walked in just as the parade was going by and all the characters were pointing to us and giving us thumbs up. XD

CASTLE SHOTS! This is why we came to Florida and spent hundreds of dollars and lugged our costumes there. Just so we could get these shots.

It's seriously like a D*sney cosplayer's dreams.

Jen looked quuite at home in Fantasyland.

Not entirely concerned about Candy, we headed over to the Toon Town Fair to get photos with characters. It was also to get out of the heat.

The heat was actually the worst part of the trip. Even though you can't tell from our photos, were were suffering out there. We were constantly sweating and overheating from the 95 degree + humidity weather. Poor Kat here suffered the most since the Poppins costume does not breath at all.

So we were completely happy to wait in a nice air conditioned room for 40 minutes to meet princesses and fairies.

So much PINK.

Unlike most guests in the park, a couple of the princesses actually knew who I was dressed as. For most of the night I heard people calling me either Ariel or Sleeping Beauty. >=/

Remember - oddly enough I hate pink. xp

Pixie Hollow was also fun. The fairies there are so awesome, unlike ours who can be hit and miss sometimes.

This was also something completely awesome that Florida did that our park doesn't - to celebrate Halloween all the Haunted Mansion cast members get painted up. SO COOL.

Yet another cool thing Florida does - they have way more villains that we do. They even performed a stage show then did a meet and greet. Ok our park sucks now.

So that concluded the first night, and by the end of the night we were DYING in our costumes. In fact, Kat got a little overheated so she headed back to the hotel before Jen and I did. Let me tell you, after a night of being out the the heat and humidity, peeling off those costumes was the GREATEST feeling in the world. Especially the wigs. OH GOD THE WIGS. x_x

So this was now the next night. We slept in all morning and did pretty much nothing during the day so we would be well-rested for this MNSS party. Kat and Jen simply switched costumes, so this night Kat wore Belle...

And Jen wore Poppins, and I wore Alice. <3 Thanks to Jen for styling my wig, it looked the best it ever has really.

WOOOO CASTLE SHOT!

Wearing Alice out in front of the castle - I'll admit for one brief moment I allowed myself to indulge and pretend I was the real Alice. But only for myself, of course. We didn't act anything like the characters and we constantly had to tell people we weren't the real characters. People kept approaching us for photos and like always we had to turn them down.

This cast member was awesome, he came up to me and announced that he wa going to serenade me, and sang me a song right there. =3

I asked for a photo with just Tweedle Dee. This one is for my boyfriend, who plays Tweedle Dee at our park. <3

Secret meeting. ;) We were actually showing them more photos from our DCA halloween adventures.

Here it was, the moment I had beeing waiting for all night, meeting the real Alice. It was a bizarre and interesting experience indeed.

And I got my photo with Hatter! I really wanted a photo with the two of them, but sadly Hatter had to be off (but not before he exclaimed he was seeing double with me and Alice XD).

They had an entire Alice Treat Trail set up!

Seriously, this trip was like a dream come true. Well, despite the heat and the sweating like pigs, and throbbing feet by the end of the night. But it was all so worth it. For years I had wanted to go to Magic Kingdom during Halloween just to wear my costumes inside the park. And it was pretty damn epic.

Halloween 2009 - Part 2

Part 2 of our Halloween adventures, our trip to D*sney World! This time around I went with Kat and Jen from October 7 to the 12.

The trip started on the night of October 6. We got to LAX around 8:30pm and our flight left at 10pm. This was my first red-eye flight and I was not quite happy with it. I thought that maybe I would be tired enough to sleep but I had no idea just how HARD it would be to sleep on a plane. Not to mention that due to budget cuts the plane had no pillows to sleep on. ARGH. Thankfully it was a non-stop flight and we got into Florida about 6am.

This was also the first time I experienced REAL Florida weather. The first time I had gone in February it was 30-40 degrees the entire trip, pretty damn cold for a SoCal girl. Now we were in 90-100 degree weather, plus humidity. I stepped outside and my first thought was "Ohhhhh, this is what it's like? Shit." So we got to our hotel at about 7am and the three of us agreed to take a nap. We slept in until 10 then headed off to Hollywoos Studios for our first day of playing.

Since Brian couldn't go with us (he couldn't get the time off from work) he gave me a little Pluto doll and told me to think of it as him for the trip. So I took a bunch of photos with Pluto-Brian. Dawww.

Omg Stitch! Btw, Photopass was our savior on this trip, especially during the Halloween parties. We decided to go all out and get as many photos as we could through Photopass.

When we told the photographer we were from California, he told us to pose like real Hollywood girls. XD

We stopped to see the Big Mouse himself. I told him I worked at D*sneyland in CA and it was weird to see him out in FL. He gave me a thumbs up. XD

Once again I applaud D*sney World for their efficient stroller parking. GOD I wish we had the space to do that.

Which is good, because he was hot. XD

After Hollywood we booked it over to Magic Kingdom. OH HAI Cinderella Castle! I missed you!

We had dinner at the Liberty Tavern, which was AWESOME. The food there is amazing, almost like a thanksgiving dinner. You pay a flat price and they bring you everything from turkey, corn, mashed potatoes, salad, mac n cheese, dinner roles with sweet butter, OMG it was so good. I recommend eating there if you go.

Dude, there were ARMADILLOS on our hotel property! We were kinda expecting to come across a gator, but no luck.

Day 2, Animal Kingdom!

Why don't we ever see Brer Rabbit at home? All we have is Brer Fox and Brer Bear. Is it because Brer Rabbit is racist? I bet it is. ;p

We were told that Expedition Everest is the tallest mountain in Orlando, even if it's man-made. XD

I was so happy we got to see DeVine again. Kat and Jen had never seen her before.

I stopped to see my friend Tommy, who works in WDW. He's come to visit me in CA a couple times.

Omg Thumper and Miss Bunny! They were so disgustingly cute. Like WAY cuter than that little girl in the pink tutu. Seriously, that's how cute.

After Animal Kingdom we headed back to our hotel, changed into our costumes, and went to the first night of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. But those photos will come in the next journal entry.

The next day we headed to Epcot, where the food and wine festival was going on.

I know it looks overcast, but it was still FREAKING HOT.

Then Mary Poppins showed up! We didn't expect to see her.

Alice was cool, but the odd thing I noticed was that all the Alices I met on this trip were taller than me. Which shouldn't happen because I'm 5'2 and in CA, that's the MAX height for Alice. O_o

We had lunch in Japan and it was also SOOOO GOOD.

Our chef was also really funny.

We saw Snow and her Prince in Germany, but sadly we couldn't catch the prince in time. The host said he had to leave to go horseback riding with Prince Charming and Prince Philip. Damn those princes and their stupid horseback riding! xp

But we still got to see Snow so that was cool.

Test Track! I keep wondering if our Cars ride in DCA will be anything like this.

I love coming in on the monorail because you can see the castle from far away.

I forget which morning this was. XD But on this day, we actually drove with a friend into the regular parking lot, another first for me.

I began to realize just how long you have to travel just to get IN to the Magic Kingdom. First you have to drive forever to get your car into the parking lot, then walk to the tram which will take you to the monorail station, then take the monorail OR the ferry boat to the main gate. That's a long way to travel. x_x

Like a good guest I waited in line every single time to see characters. Something I never do at home. XD

I was showing the fairies our Halloween costumes from DCA, which they got a kick out of.

OMG I WAS SO HAPPY TO SEE ROSETTA!! She originally worked in California, where I knew her as a host. She was out in FL on the college program, so it was wonderful to see a familiar face.

I also got to see Belle, another girl I had met on my first trip to WDW in February.

YAY my first princess kiss! I don't ever recall getting one as a child, so this was super special. XD

This was my last morning before flying home. Kat and Jen had booked an earlier flight before mine and they were up before the sun to catch their flight. I made sure to get an evening flight so I could at least spend part of the morning at Magic Kingdom.

Went to go see the fairies again. I gotta say, out of all the characters I've met at WDW, the fairies are the best.

I also got to see my favorite disfunctional family. =D

So that was that. I grabbed some ice cream, headed back to my hotel where the shuttle picked me up, and I was on my flight by 5:30. It was a looooong flight home since I had a layover somewhere in the middle of the country, I don't even remember where. But damn was I glad to get back to my comfy 70 degree SoCal weather.

Halloween 2009 - Part 1

Gaaaah I'm so behind on my photo posts. Ok, so here's my first batch of Halloween photos from our trip to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party in DCA on October 2. I met up with the girls at the D*sneyland Hotel, where we changed into our costumes. The kinda overall theme for the night was Fairies and Neverland.

Starting off with Kat and Victoria!

Jen also made me a Wendy costume this year! I didn't want to buy a wig so my sister styled my hair (is she not amazing?).

Christy as Ariel showing off her new legs (well, they have mermaids in Neverland so it kinda fits!). And Jennifer was the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio.

We got stopped so many times, with people asking us for photos. The unfortunate thing is that we're not allowed to take photos for other guests, since D*sney doesn't want us being mistaken for real characters. So we always have to say no, but hey it beats getting kicked out of the park by security!

Omg this was so much fun. It's weird walking around the park in costume, because you DO want to act like your character sometimes. Well, this is probably as close as I'm gonna get to being a real face character.

The Neverland Project

So about a month ago, I got the idea to combine photos of Peter Pan and Tinkerbell at D*sneyland in Photoshop, since it seemed like a fun project. I pitched this idea to them and the agreed to help me out. I started out making a list of ideas and got to the park early one morning to meet with Peter. We took a ton of photos, and he even threw some ideas out to me.

About a week later I put all the photos on my phone, met up with Tinkerbell, and showed them to her so she could see how she was supposed to act out. Since it's MUCH harder to do a photoshoot with Tink when there's a constant line waiting for her, we didn't take a whole lotta photos onstage. But we ended up getting through them all and I spent most of October doing these for fun.

Comic-Con 2009 - Enchanted

So my big "project" this past summer was getting a Giselle dress made. The funniest thing is that I LOVE Giselle's pink Mucha gown that she wears in the beginning animated portion of the film, but I really hate the color pink. I guess I just love the design of the dress so much, I was able to overlook the color. XD

I hunted down all the fabric myself in just one trip to the LA garment district. My seamstress did an amazing job of putting it together, I love how it turned out. I was able to find an awesome wig piece from Granada Wigs in San Diego. Since Dan already had an Edward costume made from the previous year, I begged him to dress up with me. XD

Comic-Con 2009 - Dr. Horrible

Huzzah, I have more photos from Comic-Con! As always credit goes to our wonderful photographer Britt Dietz, who sticks with us every year. So today I'm posting photos from our Dr. Horrible shoot on Friday at Con. Have I ever mentioned here that I love Dr. Horrible? I don't think I ever talked about it...but yah, I got the idea over the summer and fortunately the costumes are extremely easy to do.

I was Penny and my boyfriend was Dr. Horrible (daww isn't he adorable?).

Sam was our Captain Hammer. He may not have the dashing good looks as Nathan (sorry Sam!) but he has the cheese down perfectly.

Oh yes, there will be lots of this. XD

I didn't have the time to actually do embroidery so I just used fabric paint for the pattern on my jacket. I think it turned out pretty well.

Ok D*sney, what they hell is this?!

So Terence recently came to Pixie Hollow at D*sneyland and I was linked to this D*sney blog to see the first photo of the new Sparrow Man.

Let's take a closer look at this, shall we?

This, ladies and gents, is a photo from Pixie Hollow in Walt D*sney World, Florida. I don't even have to tell you it's photoshopped because it's PAINFULLY OBVIOUS. C'mon D*sney, you can get a better graphics artist than THAT!!

You know what's even funnier? That's a Terence from OUR park here in D*sneyland. I know him personally (here's a photo of him in Pixie Hollow). He works HERE in California.

So I totally rocked at making D*sney magic today.

It was a reeeaaaaalllly slow day, and while I was out on my break I saw there were three princesses hanging out in Hollywood backlot - Snow White, Jasmine, and Mulan. I recognized one of the hosts and while I was talking to her I got an awesome idea. Every so often we do magical moments in our store where we invite a child or two to come draw with us at the animation desk (we have templates they can trace to make themselves feel all important XD). So I asked the host if we could bring a princess in with a family to draw with us.

So she brought me to her lead, who then suggested that my manager call Character 2 (their manager) to get the approval. It took quite a few phone calls (me calling and asking my manager, her calling their manager, them calling me back, etc) but in the end we got it approved. So the host brought in Mulan during her last set with two adorable little girls. At first I thought they would want to draw Mulan, but instead they wanted to draw Belle and Ariel. Mulan was cool with it, so we did. XD But yah the parents were totally stoked, taking tons of photos. And Mulan was encouraging the little girls in their artwork. So much fun.

Also, the girls ended up asking me some of those dreaded character-related questions that the entertainment department fears, like is Mushu a real dragon or is there someone inside? I said that he's a real dragon of course! Then they asked if he was real, how come he was so big? I replied that all the animals in Disneyland (like Mushu, the Cinderella mice, the White Rabbit) all visit Wonderland at some point, and they all ate the wrong side of the mushroom which made them grow really big. That way it's easier for them to sign autographs and take pictures with guests. Dude, I could SO be a host *snerk* (these kinda questions are part of the audition process). Sigh, if only they were hiring.

But yah, today was awesome. =D

Ok so the girls and I are planning another trip to WDW for October, which means I need to start raising some money now! First I'll have a costume sale, then an art sale, then probably commissions. I need moneys to travel!

So Dina told us an amusing conversation from Off the Page. A guest came into our store and Dina went up to him and she said it was brief but went kinda like this.

Dina: Is there anything I can help you with?
Guest: Yah, I want a big Woody!
Dina: Um......I'm sorry?
Guest: Yah, a big Woody. (pause) Y'know like the big figures you have on the wall. Woody from Toy Story.
Dina: .....OH! Uh, sorry we don't have any big figures of Woody.

ROFLMAO.

Oh, and we saw the new Dragon make her debut in Fantasmic! tonight. She was gorgeous. =D

Garg drama?

I never really thought I would see this kinda drama in the Gargoyles fandom, especially when it has been going strong for over ten years. Since volume 2 of "Gargoyles: Clan Building" was released with the official design of Katana, there suddenly seem to be a bunch of Sata vs Katana wars going on. And honestly, I don't get WHY.

People are now tossing aside The Gargoyles Saga, saying that the stories there "PALE in comparison" to the comics now. Which I find to be downright insulting. I never wrote anything in the Gargoyles fandom, and we all knew TGS was FANfiction. But it was DAMN GOOD fanfiction written out of love and devotion by the fans for the fans. Greg couldn't give us anything new at the time, so TGS was all we had. And dammit, we should have been grateful for at least THAT.

People are also saying that they love Katana's design and they never liked Sata's human-face looks. I don't get it because on all the art I've done of Sata in the past, people always approved of her. Not ONCE did I ever hear someone complaining about Sata because she didn't have a beak. All of a sudden since Katana showed up, they're all cheering how beaked females are finally getting some attention. Uh pardon me, but I never heard that complaint before. And there were plenty of beaked females in the fandom (Ariana being one of them).

And let's face it folks, some people are going to prefer Sata because that's what we literally grew up with! I mean I spent nearly 10 years with Sata! I knew she was a fan character but Greg refused to tell us anything about Katana during that time, so Sata was all we had. Yes I consider Sata fanon and Katana is canon, but it's going to be HARD for me to accept Katana as Brooklyn's mate. Does it have anything to do with Greg or her design? No, simply because it's been planted in my mind that Sata is his mate. Hell, I don't even know if I like Katana yet. She had THREE PANELS and NO DIALOGUE. You can't possibly say she's better than the fan version because there's nothing yet to judge.

But then again, I should expect this kind of retardation from devArt. I'm worried now about posting the art I drew of Katana...

Second, their characters may be pretty different from ours, but I love how Disneyland Paris totally ships Alice and Hatter.

Comic-Con 2009

So this year at Comic-Con was one of the more stressful years. Overall a good year, not as good as 2008, but still the highlight of my summer. The trouble started on my drive down to San Diego.

Wednesday

So Wednesday night I was off work at 8:30pm. Since Christy had driven down earlier with a friend, I offered to carry some of her costume stuff in my car to help out. So I had my suitcase, gym bag, 5 costumes, 8 wigs, and several assorted bags crammed into my car. So when I got home it took longer to pack up the car than I expected, and I didn't actually get on the freeway until 9:30pm. I had to stop in Laguna Hills at my seamstress' house to pick up my Giselle costume, so that took an additional 15-20 minutes out of my drive.

So for the most part I'm flying down the 5 freeway, late at night and the roads were pretty clear. But about two thirds of the way there I hit traffic. BAD traffic. Turns out they closed down all but one lane on the freeway (ok who's brilliant idea was to do that on the weekend of Comic-Con?!), and I was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for about an HOUR. By this time it was 11:30 at night. Normally it wouldn't matter, but this year I was dropping my car off at my Grampa's and he was going to drive me to the hotel (so I wouldn't have to pay the ridiculous parking prices), which means he was waiting for me to arrive. I didn't get to his place until midnight.

And just when I get to his house, the lights in my car died. WTF. So we couldn't take my car to the hotel. =( We then had to transfer all the luggage/costumes from my car to Grampa's car, which took another half hour. I felt horrible the whole time but Grampa was so understanding. We got to the hotel around 1am, where we finally got everything up to the room, where Christy, Amanda, and Brian were waiting. I took a shower and went straight to bed.

Thursday

Can I say how AWESOME it was staying in a hotel this year? In the previous years I just stayed with Grampa so I wouldn't have to pay hotel prices. The downside was that I would have to get up SUPER EARLY to get good parking at 7am, when the Con itself didn't even open until 10. Last year I got fed up with the early hours, so this year I finally decided to see if the money for a hotel would be worth it. And it TOTALLY WAS. Sure it was a little pricy, but I can't tell you how nice it was to sleep in, take my time getting ready, and knowing I had all my stuff in a room that was just across the street from the convention center. I plan to do it again next year.

SO! The main difference this year was that since I was cosplaying most ofthe days, I didn't always carry my camera with me so I didn't get as many photos as the previous years. The first thing I was shocked to hear about was the Twilight panel in Hall H. Kait had told me that people had started lining up for Hall H TWO DAYS BEFORE THE CONVENTION EVEN STARTED. I swear those Twilight people were fucking INSANE. I hope to God they took turns waiting in line and bathed at some point. It's absurd that they let people line up that early for the convention. Because of them it was nearly impossible to get into the room for any other panel, including the Tim Burton's Alice panel. ARGH.

So here was out awesome hotel room, which was a complete mess by the end of the trip which is normal, and in fact, expected. XD

So here's me getting ready for my Penny cosplay. Penny has straight hair, which I can do but it takes about an hour even when I try to do it quickly.

We were then interrupted by the sound of bagpipes coming from the street down below so we looked out the window.

At first we thought it was a real funeral, but then we remember 'Oh this is Comic-Con' and realized it was a promotional stunt.

And sure enough, there was the camera crew running frantically through the street to get a shot of them. LOL.

So we get into the convention, and what's the first big awesome cosplay we see? Half naked beefy men! YES!

This guy was AWESOME. He actually walked like a zombie through the halls, dragging his bags and even falling over from time to time. He was so in character I wanted to follow him around for a bit.

Since the panels are getting harder and harder to get into ever year, I didn't get to experience many. In fact, the only panel I went to that day was a smaller D*sney artist panel, but that was just as good because Glen Keane was there. That's right Glen Keane, - my idol and hero. Meeting him has been my goal for most of my adult life and I was finally able to achieve that goal this day. *Cast Member mode* Dreams come true!!

...and Eric Goldberg were also there. They are also amazing D*sney folks.

Glen was INCREDIBLY generous. After the panel, there was a very large group of animation enthusiasts and art students who wanted to talk to him, get photos, and autographs. Glen stayed after the panel and spoke to every single person who was there.

He is truly an incredible man. I consider myself so lucky just having the chance to meet him. While I was there I asked him several things, but the number one question I had was - does the Beast in BatB have a name? And he said no. I asked him about the rumor of the name 'Adam' and he said that he never gave the Beast any name. So there you have it D*sney fans, Adam is just another fan name (which genuinely surprised me). Beast has no name.

Sam was our Captain Hammer, but he could never quite got the hang of being serious. *snerk* He bought this Pacman hat, and we couldn't help but laugh all night long.

Again, we did an entire photoshoot with Britt, but as of now we only have a few photos. I'm hoping to get the rest from him, but last year it DID take him 6 months to get all the Alice/Hatter photos to us...but I'm patient. I can wait.

It was also great being able to stay in the city because now I could go out and spend the evenings with my friends! Thursday night we went to Dick's Last Resort (LOL it was fun). I ordered the shrimp bucket.

This was us just teasing Britt. He was sitting at the window trying to get photos of the city scape. Since his back was toward us, all we could hear was him making velcro and zipping noises and muttering things like "Come on...", of course all the time referring to his camera. But of course being the dirty perverts we are, we just giggled the entire time. XD

Friday

So Friday I have much fewer photos because this was my first cosplay of the weekend where I couldn't carry any bags with me.

Me and Natalie. This was the first time ever I wore my Giselle costume! I headed down to the con to meet Dan, who would be my Edward.

This was the highlight of the day - we did another photoshoot at The Hill, Britt's favorite photo location in the San Diego bay area. Again, we took a ton of photos, but this is the only one I've been able to get now. Hopefully more will show up in time.

Again, I didn't have my camera from this day, so not as many photos. Not a lot happened anyway, I guess.

So we had dinner at Hooters that night. Dan chickened out on me and changed out of his Edward costume before he came. Hmph. So Sam gets his photo posted instead! But OMG I am now in love with deep fried pickles they have at Hooters. I intend to go back some day just to order those again, they were SO GOOD.

Saturday

Again, I didn't have my camera with me this day since we did our Alice in Wonderland cosplay this day. It was also the debut of the new and improved Sexy D*sney Princesses. Christy went ALL OUT this year with the costumes, recruited new girls for the group, and added a Tinkerbell, Jasmine, and Aurora.

Sadly you won't see Tinkerbell or Snow White in my photos because while they were with us, I was still in my Alice costume. A couple hours later the two of them had to leave, and then I went back to the hotel to change out of my costume and grabbed my camera for all these photos.

I totally want to draw these costumes. =D I LOVE them. Major props to Christy for all her designs.

I adore this sort of pin-up style. I swear I become part lesbian during Comic-Con because I draw girls, buy books of pin-ups and nude women, and take photos of all the hot girls, and I have no clue why. XD

Sunday

So finally Sunday arrived, which is my shopping day, which means I got to wear normal clothes! I was burned out on cosplay and this was finally my day to carry all my stuff around, including my camera.

It drove by too quickly for me to get a good shot, but that car was decked out to look like the Ghostbusters' Ecto-1 car. Brilliant.

So I bought a ton of art books, spending way too much money than I should have. But what the hell, it's all worth it in the end. So ended another year of Comic-Con. It was more stressful this year, and it seemed like for every good thing that happened, something else went wrong. But one of the best things in the end that we saw were people walking around Con with cardboard signs reading "Scream if you think Twilight ruined Comic-Con!" They got a lot a cheers. XD

The release is August 15, and I (along with 3 other winners) will be doing a signing starting at 9am at the World of D*sney store in Downtown D*sney. I'm psyched. =D

Oh and Comic-Con was freaking insane. A trip report will come eventually.

Comic-Con approaches!

Jeez, after 3 weeks of not having internet at home, it's finally fixed! And oddly enough, we're leaving for Comic-Con tomorrow so we won't be using it for the extended weekend. XD

So here's the schedule for Con this year. Thursday I'll be wearing Penny (with Brian as my Dr. Horrible), Friday I'll be wearing Giselle (with Dan as my Edward), and Saturday I'll be wearing Alice (with Sam as my Hatter again). I've skimmed over the program guide and I have no idea what panels I'll be attending! Considering last year, I'm afraid to even go near the big panels. I mean people were actually camping out overnight just to get into Hall H, and I'm sorry but no panel is worth that kind of wait. I would really love to go to see Tim Burton's Alice, but that's about the same time as the freakin Twilight panel so the room will no doubt be filled with screaming fangirls who will suck up all available space. Bleh.

I'm looking forward to this year since this will be the first time I'll be staying in a hotel in a LONG time. In the previous years I've always stayed with my Grandpa, who lives 10 minutes away from the convention center. But since I didn't have to pay for a room, the price I paid was lack of sleep. I would have to get up at ungodly hours just to get good parking under the convention ceneter at 7am, when the Con didn't even open until 10. And this past year was the last straw, when I arrived at the Con at 6:45am on Saturday and the freaking lot was full. SIX FORTY FIVE AM people. And with three costumes this year, I just can't handle it anymore. I loved staying with Grampa, but the convenience of rooming at a hotel that's right across the street is too good. I'll be able to take my time getting ready and I won't be falling down dead at the end of the day. Heck, I can even go out to dinner with friends this time. We're planning a trip to Hooters on Friday when we're all in costume. XD

Ok, so switching topics because I have to talk about this movie, 2012.

I am so excited to see this movie when it comes out. But not because I'm into the story, the character development, or even the outcome. I'm not really a fan of the lead actors. I want to see it purely for the special effects.

Okay I admit it, Roland Emmerich films are my guilty pleasure. Independence Day? I loved it. Godzilla?. Yah it sucked, but I enjoyed it. Day After Tomorrow? Also loved it (and I enjoyed the Rifftrax hehe). Emmerich makes damn good disaster films and I cannot wait to see his next one. Do I expect it to be a good movie overall? Hell no. But the effects in the trailer alone have me hooked, I WANT to see this movie. And I admit I love the music (anybody know what it is?).
