Universal Studios - Grinchmas 2011

Man, I've been posting so much on commissions and selling stuff, I've forgotten to post actual personal stuff. x_x Considering we only live an hour away from Universal Studios, we don't go a lot. Kait and I usually go for Halloween and Grinchmas, maybe 3 or 4 times a year total. This year we got a great deal - three days for the price of one. We went twice for Grinchmas and decided that we'll use the third day this Spring when the Transformers ride opens. I may consider getting an annual pass when they open Harry Potter world. They're ridiculously cheap anyway, compared to D*sney.









They actually had a lot more characters than I expected. Lucy here said us redheads gotta stick together.

The old Hill Valley clock tower!! Eeeeeee! Of course it no longer looks like it. I swear I have a photo packed away somewhere from like 15 years ago when it actually looked like it did in Back to the Future.


This was my first time seeing the new 3D King Kong. I gotta say, it was better than I expected. Really good graphics and pretty cool for just being a screen projection. Still wish I coulda seen the old Kong again before it burned down.

I remember the old days when you didn't go near the house, but with the new War of Worlds addition, you drive right past it. Norman waved hi. And by 'waved' I mean jabbed with his knife.




Everyone's gotta get a picture with Jaws.


Curious George - he was awfully sweet. The Universal characters are also a lot more animated and charming than I expected.


LOL Kait insisted we go see Spongebob.


The Whoville Christmas tree. That thing is massive.


And the Whos were all adorable.




Especially this guy, Snow Bro. I knew him way back when he hung out with a rather famous pirate at D*sneyland. XD


He let me pose with his little snowboard. Rockin'. ;p






Oh Mr. Grinch, I love your sour attitude. You talk back to guests in ways D*sney CMs could only dream of. XD






Heading down to the lower lot! These massive escalators still kinda freak me out.


Jurassic Park, best ride there!! =D


I was a little upset to see they had the Spinosaurus. I've been mad at him ever since he killed the T-Rex in JP3. You just don't do that, man. You don't kill T-Rex. Stupid Spinosaur.


But I gave him a hug anyway.




The ride still scares me to death, but I also love it. I have an intense fear of drops (and this is one of the biggest drops there is) but I still have to ride it. I did better this time, I actually got off without hyperventilating! O_o


Women were crowding all around this guy. Can't imagine why.


Grinchy here was a big-time flirt. I have a strong feeling he was also friends with Beetlejuice.




We also saw Coco Puff, from such Youtube videos as Snowzone and Who Cares!

This was our favorite Grinch, mostly because he's worked with Kait in the past. We got some great video footage of him, which I'll upload to youtube soon.

We saw Doc Brown! This guy was AWESOME. Great way to end the trip.

Now to sit back and wait for Transformers to open. =D
