It's done. After nearly a month of working and agonizing, my portfolio is finally DONE. I mailed it off to Disney Animation Studios today. Thank God for overnight shipping. Unfortunately it was a bit costly but if I make it, it'll be worth it in the end.
More than anything I'm just glad to be rid of it. I was so focused on getting that damn portfolio done I practically ignored my homework, I forgot to bring assignments to class, and I couldn't sleep because of stress. What's nice is now that it's gone, I kinda feel a sense of empowerment. Not a whole lot, but I at least feel ready to take on finals, so bring it on.
I'm so ready to graduate. Four more weeks and then I'm out.
(I'm hoping to get an internship at the Imagineering library in Glendale -- good luck to us, eh? I could be 50 feet away from the elevation drawing of the castle and the original Disneyland map used to pitch the idea to the bankers, every day... oh, glee! :D)
Congrats! That's a big step to get done, and you've got another one in just a few weeks. Busy, exciting times, and I wish you the best of luck with all of it. ^_^
YATTA!! *crosses fingers* Here's to hoping Disney will be just as floored by your artwork as the internets has been dazzled these past years. You're nearing the finish line, Bri! Keep it up!
*crosses fingers* Wishing you all the luck in the world! I'm waiting for answer from a school I'm applying to myself but won't get an answer 'till june
Congradulations, Bri-chan! I just know that Disney'll take one look at your stuff and go "SHE'S IN! CALL HER UP!" ^.^ And I know exactly how you felt about the portfolio...I recently had to hand in mine in order to get into the Animation program at my school and I pretty much did the same thing. Anything that wasn't related to the portfolio was pushed aside and my attention was just on that. Anyhoos, congrats, you will be absolutely amazing so don't ever doubt it!
Good on yer! I've got a couple friends working at Disney right now (one's in the internship program and the other is past that part), so if you make it in, I'll tell them to keep an eye out for you. ^_~
